Crispy and crunchy spring rolls recipe - a perfect evening snack!
Spring rolls are perfect finger foods for parties, gatherings, or social events. They can be served as appetizers or alongside other dishes in a buffet-style setting. They're easy to prepare in large batches and can be made ahead of time.
This Spring rolls recipe is popular during Ramadan in Asian Countries. Spring rolls can be served as a delicious appetizer to break the fast (iftar). They are light and crispy, which can be refreshing after a day of fasting.
Ingredients
- Shredded Cabbage 1.5 cups
- Shredded Carrot 1.5 cups
- Green Onions ¾ cup
- Boiled & Shredded Chicken 1 cup
- Chopped Garlic 2 tablespoon
- Salt 1.5 teaspoon
- White Pepper Powder 2 tablespoon
- Black Pepper Powder 1 teaspoon
- Soya Sauce 2 tablespoon
- Vinegar 1 tablespoon -
- Roll Sheets (Roll Patti)
- Flour (Atta) 2-3 tablespoon mixed in little water
- Oil 2 tablespoon
- Oil (for frying)
Instructions
heat oil in a frying pan and add chopped garlic in it
add all your vegetables in the pan
add all the spices in the mixture
put the mixture in the roll sheets and make rolls
fold it like this
apply mixture of flour and water to seal the roll
shallow fry the spring rolls
fry until light golden
or air fry the spring rolls
brush with oil
air fry for 15 mins
serve with ketchup or any sauce of your choice
Directions:
- Heat pan, add 2 tablespoon oil, add Chopped Garlic and Sauté.
- Add Shredded Cabbage, Shredded Carrot, Green Onion, and Boiled & Shredded Chicken.
- Mix and stir fry for 2 minutes.
- Add Salt, White Pepper Powder, Black Pepper Powder, Soya Sauce & Vinegar.
- Mix and fry for 5 minutes.
- Fill this filling in small amount in Roll Sheet corner, roll it and fold it from both sides to make a roll shape. Apply flour batter at the sheet corner and fold the roll.
- Make similar rolls (15-20 approx)
- Option 1:Shallow fry in oil, 3 minutes each side
- Option 2: Brush Rolls with oil. Fry in a preheated air fryer for 12 minutes, changing sides after 10 minutes.
Substitutions
- Use different vegetables based on what you have on hand or prefer. Some options include julienned bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach.
- Enhance the filling with fresh herbs like cilantro, Thai basil, or mint. Add spices such as ginger, curry powder, or chili flakes for a different flavor profile.

- Frozen uncooked spring rolls can be kept for up to 2 months.
- Frozen cooked spring rolls can be kept for up to 1-2 months.
Top tip
Ensure the filling is completely cooled before wrapping the spring rolls. Warm filling can make the wrappers soggy and difficult to handle.
